My current diet mix that lasts me about a week: 14oz @pangeareptile fig and insect 🫐, 2oz added crickets🦗, 2 baby scoops of bee pollen🐝, small squirt of honey 🍯, 30oz of filtered water 💦 Fills me with 3x 12oz squirt bottles of food with a thick enough consistency that my geckos like. This lasts about 2 feedings for me which is 1 week. Here are some tips on how to use this portable washing machine for our food and water cups / bowls for the animals: 1) Fill the washer with dish soap and soak the cups overnight so all the dried food will wash out easily when you run it. Bonus: if you use hot water, it helps to get the gunk off easier. 2) Don’t wash the contact lens caps with the actual cases. They will always lock back up together. Save time and separate them or don’t even use one of them. 3) The plastic cups stack into each other easily, so you will need to pull all the cups apart at least once so the water soaks into every cup. 4) DO NOT wash any glass bowls in this. One of my favorite growouts from this season out of Charcoal x Absinthe. At 8g it’s a lighter cream with high coverage wp that looks promising to get whiter as it grows🤞🏼❄️ // The white stuff on high coverage extremes (not counting tri color white since i haven’t worked as much on those) is interesting to work with. From my 2 seasons growing out people’s white stuff on extremes and producing and growing out my own, and from talking with many people working with it and seeing their stuff, it seems (from my limited perspective) that it’s actually pretty rare to have an actual white white on these as hatchlings and young growouts. Can they progress and whiten over time? Definitely, but the young stuff isn’t a sure bet. // Just a PSA for new folks to know that younger stuff may not be white as some breeders picture them to be. Ask for pics on a paper towel, ask for a rating scale of 1-10, don’t be an ass but don’t be shy. Another comment and question for the white trait folks: Not only does the white patterning / white spotting get whiter once they come into that prime adult age, but does the white trait make it so the gecko goes whiter when they fire up? Question for all the experienced high coverage white/creamy breeders… at what weight/age do you see your growouts whiten up and develop more coverage? From what I’ve grown out myself and seen from others, babies are usually just creamy and so so on the whiteness scale but some glow up crazy around 20-25. What’s been your experience? Dubia Roach colony 🪳! I mainly feed the geckos crickets that I get shipped in from @joshs_frogs (expensive 😢) BUT I also feed a good amount of Dubia, so this colony is clutch for me. As your collection grows, having a battery mister that holds a lot of water is pretty convenient. I use the hand pump a lot still, but for the quick mist for the rack, this is awesome.
